Who?

Kate will be delivering this retreat with Yoga sessions provided by Holly Jay, offering a wide range of sessions over the 2-night retreat.

Kate is a skilled therapist, trained in a wide-ranging set of therapeutic modalities which allows her to collaborate intuitively with individuals and groups, she runs various group events as part of her thriving clinical practice. Kate is keen to ensure to connect the mind and body in her work, knowing from experience that one effects the other.

Holly from Balance and Breathe, is a Health and wellness Instructor, Buddhist Practitioner. Holly teaches yoga with the aim of ensuring it is welcoming to all. Attending to individual and intertwining intentions to encourage people to explore the mind as well as the body.

What?

This event is focussed on setting up healthy habits creating a memorable and diverse retreat in stunning surroundings of Doxford Hall Hotel, Northumberland. Kate has negotiated private spaces for the retreat programme to be delivered in as well as private dining in the evenings. Room occupancy for this retreat is not shared, and includes dinner/ bed/ breakfast and refreshments during the day.

Arrival will be after 14.00hrs Friday 15th September leaving at 16.00hrs Sunday 17th September’

The program will include

BREATHWORK

The benefits of breath-work are vast, you might think ‘well I practice it’, I breath in and out all the time, but the likelihood is you haven’t been tapping into the healing properties of using your breath.

1) It can reduce stress and improve relaxation rapidly.

2) Being trained to breath slower has been shown to improve/ reduce your blood pressure.

3) It can, alongside other treatments, impact and improve mood.

4) Studies have shown that it improves attention.

5) It can help manage pain and is great to manage anxiety. Suppressing the sympathetic nervous system and activating the parasympathetic nervous system.

Yoga suitable for all levels

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) Referred to as psychological acupressure EFT involves tapping on key Meridian points in the body to reduce distress/ pain rapidly whilst using cognitive statements. With a growing body of evidence studies have shown large improvements in people with Depression and Anxiety. Studies have shown EFT to be more effective than antidepressant therapy.

REIKI Drumming/ Journeying

This ancient Japanese practice from the words Rei - meaning spiritually guided and Ki, life force energy, aids stress reduction, relaxation and promotes healing. Generally given by the practitioner through the laying on of hands, can be delivered to groups using drums, to balance the bodies energy centres.

Hypnosis

A human condition involving focussed attention, this practice allows modification of behaviour to create lasting improvements.

Arrival anytime after 2 on Friday 15th to use the facilities.

7.30 private dining with host and other retreat attendees (3 course dinner included, alcoholic and other drinks not included)

Saturday 16th September

8-8.30am breath-work to wake your system

8.30-10am- breakfast in your time

10am-11am- well-being session (EFT/ NLP and coaching). 

11-11-30 - tea/ coffee and fresh biscuits

11.30- 2.30 - free time/ optional sea dip at Beadnell (at own risk).

2.30-3.30-well-being session (group hypnosis/ breath-work  

3.30-4- tea/ coffee 

4-5- Yoga with Holly Walsh (she’s amazing) 

7pm -Drinks reception  (included in cost) 

7.30pm -private dining with Kate/ Holly and retreat attendees, 3 course dinner. Drinks not included. 

Sunday 17th September 

8-8.30 -Breath-work wake up your body 

8.30-10 breakfast in your own time 

10-11- Yoga with Holly Walsh 

11-11.30- tea/ coffee

11.30-12.30- well-being session, reiki drumming journey/ EFT and coaching 

12.30-2- free time 

2-3- well-being session/ group hypnosis and retreat endings/ journaling 

3-5- optional sea dip at Beadnell, leaving from there.
