Spreading the Joy: Delivering Mental Health Awareness Training to Industry Leaders and Staff."

Hey there, lovely readers! For the last 12 months or so I have had the pleasure of delivering a new course, designed from courses I have delivered to clinical staff in non mental health areas and revamped for a wider audience.

Enhancing knowledge about mental health is incredibly close to my heart: delivering mental health awareness training to industry leaders and staff. Trust me, folks, it's an absolute joy!

Now, I know what you're thinking – mental health training might sound like a daunting task, but let me assure you, it's actually a golden opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of many. As an honorary senior lecturer at Sunderland University, I've had the privilege of working with various organizations and individuals, from big corporations to small businesses, and let me tell you, each experience has been uniquely rewarding.

First and foremost, let's talk about the impact we can make on industry leaders. These are the individuals who have the power to influence workplace culture and create an environment that fosters good mental health. By equipping them with the knowledge and tools to support their employees, we can help shape a healthier and more productive workforce. It's truly heartwarming to witness these influential figures embrace the importance of mental health and commit to making positive changes within their organizations.

But it doesn't stop there, my friends! Each session I conduct with staff members is an opportunity to empower individuals, reduce stigma, and create a safe space for open discussions around mental health. Watching a room full of people share their experiences, support one another, and learn valuable coping strategies is simply magical. It's like witnessing a beautiful transformation, as walls are broken down, and a sense of togetherness flourishes.

Now, I wouldn't be your Kate Chartres if I didn't provide you with some top tips on maintaining good mental health. So, here they are:

1. Prioritize self-care: Remember, you can't pour from an empty cup. Take time for yourself, engage in activities that bring you joy, and practice self-compassion.

2. Connect with others: Social connections are vital for our mental well-being. Reach out to loved ones, join support groups, or even engage with online communities – the possibilities are endless!

3. Find your stress-busting activities: We all have different ways of managing stress. Whether it's through exercise, meditation, or indulging in a good book, find what works for you and make it a part of your routine.

4. Set boundaries: Learn to say no when you need to and establish healthy boundaries in both your personal and professional life. Remember, you deserve to have time for yourself and your well-being.

5. Seek support when needed: Don't hesitate to ask for help when you need it. Whether it's from trusted friends, family, or professionals, reaching out is a sign of strength, not weakness.

So, lovely readers, I hope this blog has shed some light on the joys of delivering training to industry leaders and staff. Remember, each one of us has the power to make a difference, and by prioritizing our own mental health, we can create a ripple effect of positivity and support in our communities.

Until next time, take care of yourselves and spread kindness like confetti!

Yours truly,

Kate Chartres
