Hello, I’m Kate Chartres, a mental health nurse with around 25 years of experience in the field, over the years I have connected and worked with probably now thousands of people.

Around 15 years ago I started to add to my toolbox with a variety of psychological therapies, some conventional, so not so conventional but still very effective. I am now working part-time in the health service and part-time for myself. I enjoy getting out in nature, connecting with people generally, and doing yoga. I found my yoga haven at Jasmine Yoga, based at Tynemouth Sailing club, it’s a great way to relieve stress and maintain the balance I find.

The work I am able to do with people within my private practice brings me lots of joy, I am not tied by the constraints of the system and am able to put together bespoke, tailored packages, helping people to heal & move forward with their lives through trauma-informed intuitive therapeutic services. I am based in the North East, but work with people all over the country online and have been offering face to face at Jesmond Therapy Centre and Whitley Bay Osteopathic Centre.

I started working for myself around 3 years ago now, I decided it was time to branch out and I was keen to offer something a bit different to the status quo. As a Newcastle based therapist, I was keen to bring a less conventional approach that doesn’t rely on people fitting neatly into a box, I have found that people rarely do. I wanted to use the extensive skills that I have to offer that very individual approach.

If you’re looking for therapy and you’re based in Newcastle, I have skills in dialectical behavioural therapy, psychosocial interventions (cognitive therapy and family interventions), Hypnotherapy, Neuro-linguistic Programming, Emotional Freedom Technique and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprogramming), whilst most of what I do will always include EMDR treatment (because of its truly magical properties), I will use a tailored approach to stabilise people and when things get stuck.

I offer a range of treatments and programmes both on and offline. For some online work is easier and it can be just as effective as face to face sessions. For those who wish to see me face to face, you can visit me at my clinic in the centre of Jesmond, or we can arrange a session in a place suited to you.

I want to help you, at your pace, and in your unique way.

If you’re ready to start your journey and you think therapy is for you, get in touch and let’s chat.
